[ Brag about it, you bastard; the years have been less kind to Daud, and the past half year's beaten him to the ground and just about torn his throat out. He still sports heavy bruises, cuts from the baths. His skin's going ashen. He knows he doesn't look well. It doesn't matter. There's little enough that matters anymore.

This, though. This... isn't right. It's Corvo Attano, sure enough, only this isn't the man Daud remembers. Is and isn't, and the tension creeping through Daud's shoulders, the cold running his spine, says this man's no ghost. Because every ghost, every vision has looked exactly as he remembered. Because no one has been so changed, so much a product of time and...

What is he doing here.

(Does he intend to try and stop Daud? Did the black-eyed bastard send Corvo to put an end to Daud's plan, maybe end Daud himself? It's possible. It's more than possible, and Daud can feel his fingers clenching into fists. It won't happen. It can't happen. He might be weaker, but another fight or two... He's got enough for that.)

Turning to face the man (because this is a man, this isn't any apparition, and Daud can't say whether that's better or worse), he takes a closer look (is it possible? is it possible and look at the man, of course it'd be Corvo who found him here of course), tries to clear his head, tries to prepare himself to fight if he needs to. Should he attack first? No. No, better to save his strength. He'll just need to be ready to react, but he can do that. He can. ]

Corvo.

[ He didn't intend to let confusion enter his voice, but there it is, making the name almost a question. ]

What is it.
